A Net of Love

GCF in action

By and

Every minute, a child in Africa dies from malaria, yet malaria is preventable! Last year New Beginnings Fellowship in Duluth, Georgia, developed a service project in the Sunday school department and called it “Caleb’s Nets.” Caleb, our three-year-old son, is one of the millions of children who live in the “mosquito zone” in sub-Saharan Africa.

The project spread to the whole church, and during the summer, our family and other GCF-supported international workers were able to do a mosquito net distribution at the Teen Bi (meaning, “The Well”) Center here in Dakar, Senegal. Each registered student brought a parent to hear about malaria prevention, and the attendees received two nets per family.

Distributing nets will save lives physically, but our prayer is that through this act of kindness and the ministry of the Teen Bi Center, the light of Jesus will shine and that spiritual lives will also be saved! Your generous support of the Great Commission Fund makes it possible for us to share the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ with our neighbors in Senegal, West Africa.
