Letting Their Light Shine

Dyak Christians in Borneo are faithfully following the Lord in extensive witnessing for Him. The churches at Long Metep and Long Ketaman have caught the real missionary vision and are spreading the good news with Holy Ghost fervor. Members of these two churches have been the means of bringing many of the wild nomad Dyaks, the Punans, to a saving knowledge of Christ. The enemy has tried to hinder the glorious advance of the gospel in Borneo, but God is giving the victory and the barriers are being surmounted by His grace.

A Filipino couple accepted the call of God to minister among the pagan Ataos of the Province of Davao, and already about 200 have been baptized, most of them in the past year. Another 200 have accepted the Lord and are awaiting baptism. More than 20 of the believers are helping in the services conducted in six regular preaching points. Several hundred attend the services. A number of anitos, men formerly possessed with evil spirits, have been saved and remarkable healings have taken place. With our praises for God’s working should be mingled much fervent prayer for there are many adversaries, and keen temptations confront those who have turned from darkness to serve the living God.
