His Promises

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires (2 Peter 1:4).

His Purification

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

His Presence

This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence (1 John 3:19).

Come near to God and he will come near to you (James 4:8).

His Perspective

. . . asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Col. 1:9).

His Power

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection (Phil. 3:10).

. . . being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience (Col. 1:11).

His Purpose

. . . for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose (Phil. 2:13).

His Passion

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord (Rom. 12:11).

His Provision

“Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy” (Acts 14:17).

His Protection

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one (2 Thess. 3:3).

His Perseverance

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses . . . let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Heb. 12:1).

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:4).

His Pleasure

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God (Col. 1:10).

So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it (2 Cor. 5:9).
