Requests from our Alliance Family

We continue to invest in learning the language, which has a huge impact on people here. Yet without prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, all our efforts would be of little impact. The longer we’re here, the more we’re aware of the great need for God’s light to penetrate the darkness on all fronts. It is our privilege to be bearers of this light, and we desire that more God-seekers will find Him and join us in this work.

Whether we are hosting drop-in guests, having one-on-one conversations, or entertaining a group of people for an evening of love and laughter, our apartment has been full of life and friendship. We value each of these individuals and desire to nudge them closer in relationship to God. For some, our interactions with them are their first encounter with people who know Him. For others already part of God’s family, it is perhaps a time of encouragement to continue to walk in a manner worthy of His calling.

Pray for insight and wisdom for our team as we disciple new Christians and help establish a healthy Body of believers throughout Kosovo. Pray especially for the national church to become established on a solid, biblical foundation—growing up in God, seeking Him daily, and receiving His love, wisdom, and power.

The Alliance team is focusing on a new initiative to expand outreach in the Kenedougou region. We have been invited to join this new work, which closely parallels what we have been doing in recent years. To that end, we will move to this region in September to partner with the national church in its efforts to reach the lost. We will work closely with the local churches in their outreach. Although this is a major change for our family, we feel it is the next step in the ministry God has called us to.

The need for the gospel in this area reminds us so much of another area of the Kenedougou region 10 years ago. There are just a few churches, but many villages are ready to hear the gospel. People are coming to faith in Jesus, and they need teachers and pastors to help them understand fully what they are beginning to believe. Those who don’t yet know Him need international workers to go to them—before it is too late for them to choose Christ.

Pray for a smooth transition as we begin ministry here and that many people will hear the good news.

Praise the Lord for growing interest in studying God’s Word at Breath of Life, the Alliance church plant in Guadalajara that celebrated its first year in April. At this writing, in our congregation of 100 people, 35 are teaching or studying the Bible on Wednesday nights. Every week we are growing.

We are trying to expand our church’s programs—and possibly start a second service—but are facing the challenge of limited space. Please pray for the congregation’s continued growth and for funds to buy land in our fast-growing community.
