Transformation before Transportation

By

As the Alliance family celebrates our 125-year milestone as a Great Commission movement, we, like the prophet Samuel, raise our Ebenezer and declare “thus far, the Lord has helped us.” By His power and grace, we’ve reached more than 80 countries with the saving knowledge of Christ.

The most recent era of Alliance ministry has been characterized by the growth of our U.S. church and the maturing of national churches around the world. It seems that God has been preparing us for the next wave of pioneer missions.

  • As national churches reach maturity, Alliance fields are sending their own workers to areas with little or no gospel witness.
  • God is equipping a new generation of Alliance people to share Christ through non-traditional means in creative-access nations.
  • With historical shifts like the “Arab Spring,” God is clearly opening doors to parts of the world where less than 2 percent of the people follow Jesus.

As we enter this next challenging chapter of our mission, are we spiritually prepared for what lies ahead?

The C&MA was founded not out of a passion for missions but rather a passion for Jesus. Are we growing in our love for Him and our understanding of His love for us? Are we allowing Him to remove the millstones that sink our faith and keep us drowning in sin? Are we letting His Spirit “untame” us and deliver us from comfort and complacency? Are we taking faith-filled risks that demonstrate our trust in His power and provision?

The Alliance stands for deeper life and missions—in that order. Transformation before transportation. Unless the work in our souls precedes our work in the world, we’ll miss the train.

All aboard?
