West Africa. Central Africa. East Africa. Even North Africa.

By

On a continent nearly unreached by the gospel more than a century ago, there are now believers from many tribes and nations. Not only are they worshipping Christ as their Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King, but also they are taking this good news to their neighbors—many of whom have never heard of Jesus and follow a religion traditionally hostile to the Word.

The stories in this issue happen to come from West Africa, specifically the “bump” on the continent that reaches toward South America. We did not solicit specifically from that region—they came in my inbox or in prayer letters sent to other members of the Communications team. One was squeezed out of a previous month and so ended up here by “happenstance.”

I sensed that God wanted North American readers to focus on Alliance work that is nearest North Africa, to solicit prayer for African believers who are closest to one of the most religiously hostile and politically turbulent places on earth. He wanted us to pray for people He has prepared through their own experiences with traditional religions and with national strife. Whatever the future holds, we can be assured that God is preparing a place for His people to serve. As The Alliance moves into the hardest places left on earth in which to share the love of Jesus, He wants us to know that He is already there.
