Building Churches in Guinea's Capitol
The Alliance is positioned to plant new churches in Conakry, Multiplying churches to reach millions of Guineans for Christ.
» NEEDED
The majority of Conakry’s 2 million people practice the traditional religion. Some evangelized tribes have migrated to the capital, where they meet to worship and seek to win their countrymen to the Lord. These Jesus followers have planted four churches, and many have started home groups numbering from 100–300 believers, some of whom gather in modest shelters with only a
roof and benches..
Approximate need for this project: $47,200
Approximate amount funded to date: n/a
» WHY THE ALLIANCE?
In 1919 The Alliance sent its first missionaries to Guinea. Since then we have helped believers in Conakry construct four church buildings and have assisted the local church in its outreach and pastoral training programs. The government has a high degree of respect for the church and the missionary team..
» WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
In a country where real estate is costly, God has provided His followers with land. However, the cost of building materials has soared far beyond the believers’ reach.
The national church is seeking to plant a church in every major neighborhood of
Conakry, producing a strong Body of believers who are witnessing and planting
churches among the unreached in Guinea and in other countries..
» HOW CAN YOUR CHURCH HELP
Pray for the Christians of Conakry to be salt and light in Guinea.
Provide funds to construct church buildings.
Participate in short-term missions trips to help in construction.
» OUR VISION
With God’s leading and help from the Alliance family, this project will establish a viable witness for Jesus among the unreached people of the capital—including the Maninka, the Fula, the Soussou—and beyond.
