Planting Churches in Senegal
Alliance Missionaries are in Senegal, West Africa, ready to build a ministry center that will attract people who have been unresponsive to traditional methods of evangelism. Church planting will follow.
» NEEDED
A ministry center that offers social services to the public, including a medical clinic, English classes, coffeehouse, and Internet café, and that will lead to a church plant.
Approximate need for this project: $253,860
Approximate amount funded to date: n/a
» WHY THE ALLIANCE?
Veteran C&MA missionaries in West Africa will work among the Wolofs, the
predominant people group in Senegal. Other evangelical agencies that have
worked in this area for many years have invited The Alliance to join them in
hopes that the partnership will lead to church-planting opportunities.
» WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
Innovative and creative methods are essential in reaching people groups long
resistant to the gospel. Through the personal interaction a ministry center
provides, relationships will grow, opening doors for the gospel to be shared.
» HOW CAN YOUR CHURCH HELP
Partner financially with Alliance missionaries in Senegal, enabling them
to minister to the whole person.
Participate in short-term missions teams, internships, and prayer
partnerships.
» OUR VISION
Senegal is a door to countries that are totally closed to a Christian witness. The
Alliance team in Senegal hopes to start small home groups that will lead to
a church plant, train lay leaders, and send disciples from Senegal into places
where western missionaries cannot go.
