Envision desires to see people Come Alive as they follow Jesus; as a site associate with our team in Conakry, Guinea, you will receive support to fulfill this calling. As a part of the team, this individual or couple is expected to make a strong contribution in hosting short-term teams and interns, with an emphasis in relational outreach, hospitality, discipleship, and leadership development. Working in this cross-cultural environment requires a strong missional calling, willingness to work on a team, flexibility, and a creative/innovative mindset.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ample proficiency in a specific vocation
  • Study within field of expertise
  • Completion of Alliance Polity course
  • Completion of Missions Perspectives course
  • Experience serving in ministry
  • Proficiency in an area of ministry
  • Successful completion of Bible knowledge exam

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Heart for church advancement and planting
  • Evangelism and discipleship experience
  • Gifts and experience in hospitality and hosting large groups

Responsibilities:

  • Host short-term teams/individuals as well as:
    1. Translating, scheduling, meal planning, working with nationals, transport/chauffeuring, vision-casting, orientation, and mentoring interns
  • Partner with Conakry youth team to help further its ministry initiatives
  • Develop a personal ministry in the community/church through discipleship, evangelism, education, development, or another area of need, depending on personal gifts and skills
  • Help local churches in Guinea to fulfill their God-given calling through ministry that may include building projects, evangelism, or church planting
  • Network with other International Ministries’ (U.S. Alliance) and Global Ministries’ (Canadian Alliance) workers in Guinea
  • Make new contacts and develop relationships on a weekly basis
  • Regularly communicate with supporting churches and individuals effectively and securely
  • Learn the local language to full professional proficiency (language school tuition will be paid by The Alliance upon appointment)

This position is part of a team composed of multinational leaders, other Envision site staff, Conakry youth team members, and local workers. Site associates and coordinators live in a developing country where the standard of living is below that in the United States. Specific housing options will be explored after appointment. Language Expectations:

Language is an essential part of ministry. International workers will receive one year of French language study in Albertville, France, followed by tutoring or other language coaching in Guinea.

Expectations for Spouse:

If married, the spouse will partner fully in meeting this position’s required responsibilities.

Children’s Educational Plan and Options:

Site team will advise.

Compensation Package:

Once appointed, funds must be raised through the applicant’s network of friends and family, local church, or other resources. Cost information will be made available upon application.

The C&MA is an evangelical denomination committed to planting churches both in the United States and internationally. Due to the nature of this ministry opportunity, part of the required qualifications include being healthy in all aspects of life. As you move forward in the consideration process for appointment, these will be assessed.

Important Clarification:

Applicants should be aware that serving in the international world often requires a higher degree of grace and flexibility. For example, overseas teams can be suddenly and unexpectedly impacted by illness, government decisions, financial realities, team changes, or other factors beyond the team’s control. The challenge for applicants is that these factors can sometimes necessitate the sudden redefining of a position, which may take place before, during, or after the application/interview process has begun or is completed.
