This is a great opportunity for a couple or individual who have a strong calling and willingness to go to a challenging place and serve cross-culturally in team-based pioneer church planting. As part of the team, this individual or couple would be expected to make a strong contribution in areas of relational outreach, discipleship, and leadership development as core efforts in pioneer planting of a new church. Paraguay, like many places where the Alliance has work, is a very challenging environment in which to work from the standpoint of a post-modern society, synchronistic belief systems, and subtle but very real spiritual warfare. Our experience of ministry in Paraguay to date indicates that people are most responsive to sound proclamations of the Gospel that are complimented by incarnate ministries, such as acts of compassion and family ministries.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
