Developing peacemaking is a pioneer ministry opportunity in this country. You will be working with an established team and local believers to develop a contextualized peacemaking (interpersonal conflict resolution) training program, coach local believers in how to resolve conflicts in family and community, and develop local trainers to lead small groups and mentor. Additionally, you will train Sunday School teachers and camp leaders to teach youth how to resolve conflicts and instill a peacemaking DNA in future local leaders and international workers through training opportunities.

In addition to peacemaking training, our team has an English teaching business, so you will also have a role of some kind (role to be determined based on your skills and experience). Everyone is committed to functioning as a team.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree
    1. Completed of at least 30 hours of Bible/theology/ministry studies and 15 hours of Intercultural studies (ICS)
    2. The wife must hold a recognized bachelor’s degree and have completed a minimum of 18 hours of Bible/Theology studies and 15 hours of missions/ministry studies (with a minimum of 6 hours in cross-cultural or missions studies)
  • Bilingual already or Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT) Score of 70 or above
  • Two years of successful Alliance Licensed Ministry Experience (ALME)
  • Alliance Ordination completed
  • Two years of company work experience
  • Completed some of Peacemaker Ministries’ training in the U.S. (minimum requirement: completion of conflict coaching and mediation training)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification with Peacemaker Ministries as a Christian Conciliator
  • Deep heart for people
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Experience discipling and/or training others
  • Ability to lead in the initiation of new ministry and/or measurably grow established ministry to new levels


  • Come alongside local leaders and champions to help facilitate launching of new ministry
  • Contribute to training program development

General Information:

As a CAC, more detailed information of this area will be given in the process of application and appointment. It is a land of many needs and opportunities. Our team focuses on developing key church leaders. We need people who embrace the value of ministering to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and are willing to make the investment needed to do so. Peacemaking training opportunities of all kinds abound. Both believers and non-believers benefit from it.

Work and Living Environment:

This is a rapidly growing city of 10+ million people. Teammates live in apartments within a few minutes walk of each other and the office. Travel is by subway, bus, taxi, motor scooters, or bikes. Grocery shopping is conveniently located.

Status of Christian Witness:

There is a large local church that our team is involved in to varying degrees. There are many churches throughout our city, yet still many who have never heard. A local seminary serving six provinces is located in our city. We have the opportunity to mentor these future international workers and leaders. In the area, there are some places without like-minded presence yet.

Language Expectations:

Language is an essential part of peacemaking ministry. For those who do not have the language, they will attend language study. International workers (IW’s) receive two years of intensive language and cultural study. The goal will be to speak, read, and write the language at a functional level in order to mentor, teach, and train others.

Health Considerations:

There are average local hospitals. Depending on exact placement, some major medical issues need to be treated in another location. Lots of walking is required, stairs are common, and there is limited wheelchair access. There is periodic poor air quality which can aggravate asthma.

Expectations for Spouse:

Spousal roles vary based on the spouse’s giftings and training, and the needs of the team. It is expected that both spouses will be meaningfully involved in meeting ministry objectives, depending on the nature of family roles, children, etc.

Children’s Educational Plan and Options:

Educational options include an excellent international school run by believers in the city, local schools, and home schooling.

Compensation Package:

This position is designated to be funded through the Great Commission Fund (GCF). We offer compensation for this position, covering costs related to a monthly living allowance, housing, travel, children’s education, and full benefits. GCF-funded workers share responsibility for raising GCF dollars from Alliance churches and other sources.

The C&MA is an evangelical denomination committed to planting churches both in the United States and internationally. Due to the nature of this ministry opportunity, part of the required qualifications include being healthy in all aspects of life. As you move forward in the consideration process for appointment, these will be assessed.

Important Clarification:

Applicants should be aware that serving in the international world often requires a higher degree of grace and flexibility. For example, overseas teams can be suddenly and unexpectedly impacted by illness, government decisions, financial realities, team changes, or other factors beyond the team’s control. The challenge for applicants is that these factors can sometimes necessitate the sudden redefining of a position, which may take place before, during, or after the application/interview process has begun or is completed.
