Former Missionary to Colombia Dies

Elizabeth G. Marstaller, retired missionary to Colombia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2005, in Durham, Maine. She was 98 years old and served as a missionary with The Alliance from 1937 to 1976.
Marstaller’s training—studies at the Maine School of Commerce, three years of public school teaching, and work as a bookkeeper and secretary—prepared her for service at the Colombia mission. She taught at the Bible Institute in Armenia for more than 30 years, equipping many national leaders for ministry. Along with overseeing a children’s boarding school and ministering in a local church, she also helped found and oversee the Jorge Isaacs School, a primary-secondary school. Her joy and passion was to see Colombians flourish in the knowledge and love of Christ. This was still evident at the age of 90, when she visited Colombia to encourage and uplift the national leaders and students!
Her funeral service was held October 26 at Lisbon Falls Baptist Church in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Jim Marstaller, a great-nephew, officiated the service. Any gifts given in her memory should be sent to the C&MA National Office, marked for the Jorge Isaacs School/Memorial Marstaller.
