In Papua, Indonesia, AIDS threatens to wipe out a significant portion of the population. Team Joshua, an Alliance outreach, is expanding its work to help meet this challenge. Several of the team members, including two Bible school graduates, will spearhead efforts to stop AIDS from wiping out Papua. Recently they met with the doctor who heads up the government’s AIDS Prevention Department. “He was impressed with our ideas and grateful for our help,” says Alliance worker Barry Jordan. “We will be creating a brochure with a hotline number that our Team Joshua youth can hand out in the major youth gathering places. We are preparing materials and getting ready to launch this new work. Please pray as we reach out beyond our normal borders to help save the youth of Papua.”
