Life-Changing Experience for Couple in Foley, Alabama

John and Suzanne stopped by pastor Don Young’s in Foley, Alabama, a few months ago. They are alumni of the University in Mississippi and heard about Camp Katrina (in Waveland, Mississippi) and wanted to give some significant funds to help in the relief efforts. In conversation with them, Young discovered that they were Christians, but they currently were not attending a church. Young prayed with them and didn’t see them again for a number of weeks.
On a second visit, they again brought money for Camp Katrina. This time they promised to attend church when they returned form their weekend out of town.
During that weekend, Suzanne accidentally swallowed a pain patch that severely obstructed her breathing. John rushed her to the hospital, where doctors said, “There is little we can do for her. She appears to be brain dead.”
Young received a call on Sunday afternoon about the situation. He and his wife traveled three hours to Meridian, Mississippi, to be with John. What he saw was devastating. They went in to pray for Suzanne, knowing that the doctors were expecting to take her off of life support in the next few days. The Genesis Church intercessors, along with prayer warriors around the globe, also were praying for Suzanne. As they prayed, Suzanne moved her legs, arms, and head. God began putting life back into Suzanne.
The next day, doctors took Suzanne off the support system, and she sat up in bed and was able to read the note Young left for her on the white board.
Suzanne and John attended Young’s church the next Sunday, and her miraculous recovery from death to life was a powerful testimony. They have since rededicated their lives to God and have become part of the Genesis Church family.
