Firm in the Faith

When Nataya* accepted the Lord during an Alliance outreach in Thailand some years ago, she faced intense opposition from her family. She eventually relocated to another part of the city but continued to visit her loved ones yearly, praying that God would soften their hearts.

During her first visit, Nataya’s parents called down curses on her for wanting to follow God. But through tears and heartache, she stayed firm in her faith. Alliance workers encouraged her to be the best daughter she could be, to keep showing love, and to pray for her family. With each new visit, Nataya’s parents became more civil, though they still expressed disappointment in her being a Christian. In time her brother was befriended by an Alliance church member. He is now attending church and is close to accepting Christ.

Recently when Nataya and her brother returned home for a visit, their parents asked them if they are still going to church. When they said yes, their mother and father smiled. “Keep praying for this precious family, that Nataya’s brother and all her relatives will find saving faith in Jesus,” our workers ask.
