Missionaries in Car Accident
June 27, 2007
Alliance missionaries to Gabon David and Becki Thompson were not seriously injured when their vehicle overturned after David fell asleep at the wheel. “We are all okay, with only a few scratches on our hands from broken glass,” David says. The Thompsons, admittedly exhausted, and two other passengers were on their way to Libreville from Bongolo Hospital when the accident occurred. The car rolled and stopped on its side near a thatched room filled with preschool children.
“Our thoughts are filled with ‘should haves’ and ‘should not haves,’” Thompson says, “but that’s a bit late now. We are mostly grateful to be alive and uninjured.” The Thompsons are scheduled to leave Gabon June 28 for home assignment.
