MK in Serious Condition

Sean Hotalen, son of Alliance missionaries Stan and Connie Hotalen, is in a South Africa hospital suffering with pneumonia, a complication of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. Lung congestion is blocking his airways, but the procedure to help him breathe also causes cardiac distress. “At one point Sean was having a lot of pain in his chest and couldn’t breathe,” said Stan. “It became clear that he was ‘seizing’ or actually leaving us.” A nurse revived the boy, but there is concern about the effects of the treatment.
The Hotalens, who serve in Republic of the Congo, dedicate Sean’s room to the Lord each day. “Funny thing happened,” Stan said. “One of the ICU nurses came rather quickly into Sean’s room and said, ‘I just need a place of peace.’ It is so wonderful that others find it to be a place of peace also.”
Pray for God’s healing touch on Sean and for His grace to sustain Stan and Connie.
