Political Instability Haunts Guinea

A year after Guinean citizens suffered the fallout of political tensions, civil unrest again threatens the country. The president’s announcement in early December that his office would retain full authority of the central bank brought critical response from the prime minister as well as union and civic leaders. The Alliance national church president met with other religious leaders to discuss mediation for a peaceful settlement without strikes and to call on the population not to participate in public demonstrations.

Pray for wisdom, boldness, courage, and discernment for the religious leaders as they meet with government and union leaders. Also, pray that the mission team would have wisdom in decisions about ministries and personnel.
