Flood victims in Burkina Faso are open to hearing the gospel after receiving food through ACCEDES, the development arm of the C&MA national church. Heavy rains totally destroyed the crops in one village, and CAMA, the relief arm of The Alliance, responded to a plea for help. “When the first load of CAMA emergency food assistance arrived in Karangasso, the villagers ran out to watch in disbelief as corn, oil, beans, and salt were unloaded from the trucks,” said a CAMA staff member. “People steeped in animism—and who wanted nothing to do with Christianity—are showing genuine interest.” As a result, the door was opened for evangelism. Already, 11 unreached people have committed themselves to the Lord.
