Electric Outages Hamper Life and Ministry for Alliance Workers in Senegal

The electric power in Senegal has been poor for some time, but recently it has made work and living very difficult. The night we departed for home assignment, we packed by lantern.

A colleague wrote, “During the past week, we’ve had more than 45 hours—nearly one third of the week—in electric cuts, most of them during the hottest part of the day and the late evening.  Without being able to run an air conditioner in the office, the temperature rose to 97 degrees! Our daily average cut has been about 7.5 hours, with an average of 2.3 cuts a day.”

We have a designated field project to buy a generator for our building and offices, but we are still a long way off from being able to purchase what we need. We are praying that the remaining funds can be raised quickly so that the ministries and daily living of our team in Dakar can benefit from a back-up system. Please join us in praying for God’s mighty provision.
