“God Is at Work in Senegal!”

By Evan and Jewel Evans

Chaplains, Dakar Academy, Senegal

wp-images2The following is an adapted excerpt from a request by the Evanses, who serve at Dakar Academy—a college preparatory boarding and day-school program (kindergarten through grade 12) largely for the children of international workers. Chaplains at the school, the Evanses also head up outreach programs, discipleship ministries, and serve as dorm administrators.

It wasn’t that long ago that we were asking for your prayer support on behalf of the Dakar Academy outreach weekend in the Tataguine region. God answered your prayers in a powerful way—more than 700 people prayed for salvation that November weekend.

Remarkable Outpouring

The kids and staff will return to roof the church in the village of Diofane (in Tataguine), where they laid the foundation and held an evangelism campaign. It’s estimated that upwards of 95 percent of the people in Diofane are now believers—God is truly at work in Senegal!

This weekend, the team is traveling to the village of Bikol, where they will build the foundation for another church; they will also minister in a village where they built a church two years ago, painting the inside of that factility as well as creating a mural on the front wall. Vacation Bible school, medical, and drama teams will minister in various villages.

Two Things You Can Do

* “Pray for all the logistics that need to come together,” the Evanses request. “But, more importantly, pray that God will open hearts and minds and manifest His presence in supernatural ways.”

* Donate to Alliance Great Commission Ministries. In doing so, you partner with overseas Alliance workers, like the Evanses, to spread the good news of Christ’s love among those desperate for hope.
