Senegal’s Presidential Elections Largely Peaceful

By a marketplace ministries couple, serving in Senegal

“Asalam malecum” (Peace be upon you) is the way people greet each other in Senegal. We are very happy to greet you today from a country that held peaceful elections yesterday.

That’s not to say they were without incident. Overall, though, they were peaceful and people are happy today. Thank you for praying!

Reports indicate that there was no clear winner, so there will likely be a runoff between the incumbent president and his former prime minister next month.
