UPDATE: Earthquake in Chile

“We just received news that the Alliance church in Iquique suffered some structural damage,” write Bob and Cheryl Fugate, Alliance global team members. Additionally, the pastor’s home, which is connected to the church, was damaged.

Another Alliance church on higher ground was spared but the pastor’s house, which is made from mud and brick, suffered significant damage.

“These are rural people, so we are in contact with [a pastor] who is coordinating relief,” say the Fugates, who have heard reports that another earthquake may hit. “We are packing a small bag and leaving it in the car,” they say. “Thanks for your prayers!”
