An article on forbes.com stated Black Friday 2013 Backfires On Retailers. Can Cyber Monday Save Them? These words can drum up all kinds of emotion.
But what if we turned our backs on the madness of unbridled spending and joined a movement to raise the standard to an entirely new level?
#GivingTuesday™ (#GT) kicks off the giving season on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
This year, GivingTuesday falls on December 2, 2014. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday, we want to encourage the giving community to show their support for the Alliance Year-End Offering.
One Alliance worker shared the following about his ministry:
Today we are grateful for many things. The Lord Jesus Christ has chosen us—called us—to work for Him, and by His grace we have been given the joy to watch His power change lives. Because of the love He has put in my heart for them, it tears me up to think of those who don’t yet live in the presence, peace, and power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What a joy and an adventure to see with my own eyes the lighting of lost souls’ eyes as they find Christ for the first time, read or hear Scripture in their heart language, are healed instantly by Christ or over days of loving care, and receive eyeglasses and vision at 50 years of age. I have seen a prostitute delivered from demons when calling out His name, a club foot repaired, a successful cleft pallet surgery performed by Mercy Ships, and abandoned twins adopted. Children who have seen all this pray with authentic faith in their hearts to Christ. Yes, we are blessed and grateful!
Nothing is impossible through Christ who strengthens us!
Thank you for faithfully giving to the Great Commission Fund that supports our work; without your help we couldn’t be here.
