Expectancy, Anticipation, and Faith

One Alliance worker who had fallen on hard times over the past year knew he didn’t have the means to come to Council. After years of fruitful ministry, the sudden death of a loved one and a serious personal injury derailed his plans and drained his savings.

Unable to work because of his injuries, he began seeking God with open heart and open hands. Sensing God wanted him to come to Council, he began praying and trusting that God would also provide a way.

Within weeks, God did provide through His people. An unexpected check to cover the airfare. An invitation to share a hotel room. And a whole bunch of encouragement from a whole bunch of God’s people. Anticipating fresh direction from his Lord, he took a step in faith by showing up—even trusting God to feed him, as he came with an empty wallet. But he knows whom he has believed and is persuaded that He is able to keep what he has committed to Him until that Day.

So if you run into a man earnestly seeking Jesus—with fire in his eyes and hunger in his belly—encourage his faith and buy him a burger!
