Church Responds to Roseburg School Shooting

by Randy Shaw, Alliance Northwest District superintendent

Roseburg (Oregon) Alliance Church has been highly involved in caring for their community since the tragic shooting on the Umpqua Community College campus last week. God has allowed their staff, through invitations from the community, to minister directly to both students at the college and the community as a whole.

While no one from Roseburg Alliance Church was injured or killed, individuals from the congregation were both first responders and connected to people who were wounded or killed.

Here are a few ways you can pray for Roseburg:

  • Pray for the Roseburg Alliance family (and the faith community as a whole) as they love and care for those around them in the weeks and months ahead.
  • Pray for the wounded and their families, and the families of the victims.
  • Pray for the first responders that they would allow themselves to process this tragedy.
  • Pray for the family of the shooter.
