Based on reports by Janice Greenfield and Cheryl Fugate, Alliance international workers who serve in Guadalajara, Mexico
At least one young woman gave her life to Christ this fall during the first Women’s Encounter at Breath of Life, a seven-month-old Alliance church plant in Guadalajara, Mexico.
“Thirty-four guests and an eleven-member ministry team participated in the [evangelistic event for women],” Alliance international worker Janice Greenfield reports. It featured “culinary treats, compelling testimonies, laughter and tears, and the gospel presentation.”
“Another guest said it was the first time she had ever heard the gospel and was so thankful her friend had invited her,” Janice adds. “A young mother who lives on the other side of the city said she would like to return to Breath of Life.”
“Others have continued coming to the church, seeking peace and hope for their lives,” says Cheryl Fugate, who, with Janice, hosted the event. “[The women] are so grateful for this ministry.”
“Our follow-up meeting for the ladies was canceled due to Hurricane Patricia, but many have begun attending our church because they are so impressed by the message of hope and love found in Jesus that they heard in the Encounter,” Cheryl observes.
Please pray for effective discipleship of the women and that many will trust in Jesus. Also, pray for preparations for next year’s Marriage Encounter at Breath of Life, which will help couples overcome crises in their lives by providing concrete tools to enhance their relationships.
