Compassion and Mercy Associates (CAMA), a ministry of The Alliance, is partnering with a Christian NGO to run a refugee camp between Greece and Macedonia. Workers distribute food, water, blankets, and clothing to those moving from the Middle East to Western Europe. They also share the love and hope of Jesus.
While difficulty, pain, and hardship surround the people arriving at this camp, God’s healing power is also present.
A CAMA worker recently shared a story about a seven-year-old refugee boy with a broken arm that was bruised and red in a make-shift sling. When his family entered the camp, several of CAMA’s partners asked if they could pray for healing for his arm.
As they laid hands on him and prayed in the name of Jesus, his arm was instantly healed. The bones were back in place, and the redness and bruising were gone.
The boy began to run around the dusty, barren camp shouting, “Jesus healed me! Jesus healed me!” A man from the boy’s group who witnessed what had happened prayed to receive Jesus on the spot.
Pray
Pray refugees hearing the gospel and putting their trust in Jesus Christ will continue to grow in their faith. Pray they find a Christ-centered church community wherever they ultimately settle.
