Hurricane Harvey Pummels Houston
Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas on August 25, leading to significant flood damage for over 100,000 homes in Houston. No one could get in or out except by boat, but Alliance family members responded quickly in the initial rescue efforts.
The greater Alliance family continues to send volunteers and financial assistance through CAMA Services to support Alliance churches in the Houston area as they sanitize and rebuild homes in their communities and take opportunity to share the gospel with those impacted by the storm.

Thanks to the Alliance family, Houston relief efforts are now well into the reconstruction phase. Alliance churches in the affected areas, partnering with CAMA, have already helped dozens of families clean out their homes and hope to help 150 more in restoration efforts. The greatest volunteer need right now is for skilled workers in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and/or drywall. Find out more.

Loving Your Neighbor
Neighbors of Alliance people all over Houston are receiving help from Alliance teams. Houses are being restored and relationships are being built as Alliance family members are invited into their neighbors’ homes and given the opportunity to share the gospel in words with those nearest them.
“I have found through this process that when we live the gospel before people, we should use words too,” says Larry McHaney, the Harvey Relief Coordinator for the Southwestern District. “While helping someone get their house back in order is important, it pales in comparison to their need for Jesus.”
Because of gifts to the CAMA Disaster Relief Fund, many people are receiving help through these new phases of the recovery process. “Through the Christ-like acts of service from strangers all across the country, she did not have to do this alone,” Larry said.
Thank you to all who prayed and financially supported this ministry. Visit the CAMA Web site to volunteer.
