The following was adapted from a recent communication by Dr. Jose Dalino, president and executive bishop of CAMACOP (the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines).
I have declared a state of emergency in the three CAMACOP districts heavily damaged by Typhoon Haiyan. I arrived the other night from Davao City after a meeting with the Typhoon Haiyan Crisis Committee and am also overseeing the relief packing center at Davao Alliance Bible College.
The first truckload of supplies is en route to Baybay, Leyte, with a 15-member team; this location will serve as the base of operations for initial relief and rehabilitation efforts. Rev. Rey Trono—the CAMACOP Relief, Rehab, and Development coordinator for Mindanao—is the team leader.
Pray for the team’s protection, safety, and needed finances.
