Right now, the best way to assist with the material needs of hurricane victims is to give to the CAMA Hurricane Relief Fund. Funds received already are being directed to provide food, shelter, and comfort through Alliance churches close to the affected areas.
All C&MA work teams will now go through the office at Genesis Church. There have been so many of you who have wanted to come that Christian Life Church hasn’t been able to handle all of the calls because of the overload. So Genesis Church is going to take that ministry over and help them. If you want to send a team, send your emails to waveland@cmalliance.org. Gladys or Barb will send you the needed information and then we will check with Trudi at CLC for a calendar spot. This way we will know that all of our people will be cared for in a timely matter. You also can telephone at (251) 986-5843.
Genesis Church is preparing to enter Phase Two of its long-term strategy for Waveland. Soon they will be sending teams into areas to help clean homes, remove debris, and minister on a more personal basis. They will continue to give out food and needed items, and they still will feed the many who come to their tents. However, it soon will be possible to get back into the areas where people are living.
So please keep on keeping on! Genesis Church needs the following to continue its ministry in Waveland:
• Products—we need you to keep sending the trucks with supplies. Or some of you are sending cash or gift cards. (We are giving out gift cards to the following places: Home Depot, CVS, Walgreen’s, Wal-Mart, and Winn Dixie.) These are helpful to people, allowing them to purchase what they need. With the higher prices of trucking, gift cards may be the answer.
