From urban ministry to simple outreach to those who live in the area, the city of Chicago is a way to step out of this country without a passport.

    Located on the north side of Chicago, Family Empowerment Centers ministers to a neighborhood roughly 1.8 square miles in area. With a population of 65,000 people, 30 percent are African American, 30 percent are Hispanic, and 30 percent are White. This area is relatively unchurched and spiritually dry.

    Live life with the poor and marginalized and show our neighbors their personal value and acceptance through regular and non-programmatic connections.

  • What’s Included

    Trip cost includes ground local transportation, room, board, travel insurance and ministry experience and is based on 7 full days on the ground. If a trip extends longer than that, a charge of $50 per-person, per-day will be added.

    A 20% non-refundable deposit for the total trip cost is due upon registration. The balance for all trips is due 60 days prior to the trip. Late payments are subject to a fee.

  • Group Trips

    Group Leaders only! If you are interested in planning a 7 day trip for your church or fellowship group, e-mail Rob at Rob@familyempower.org to plan or schedule your trip!
