What is GV Discovery?
GV Discovery trips are intentionally designed to give college students a strong developmental missions foundation by providing for authentic exposure to the C&MA style of missions. GV aims to build intentional, trusting relationships with C&MA missions personnel and leaders, to provide hands-on ministry experience, and to develop students who will invest their lives in the ongoing church-planting ministries of the C&MA.
Each country which invites a GV Discovery team will provide a unique experience including basic development of skill “sets” such as language learning, culture learning/bonding through living with those of other nationalities, and hands-on ministry at the side of veteran C&MA missionaries.
On a GV Discovery team, you will experience growth through sharing your faith with people who have never heard the gospel, as well as be able to directly assist experienced missionaries in a way that will let you see and taste what life and ministry among the unreached of our world is all about.
Qualifications
Applicants should be in their sophomore–senior year in college; preference will be given to upperclassmen. The upper age limit is 25 years old although exceptions may be made for students who exceed this. Applicants should demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity, sense God’s calling to cross-cultural ministry overseas, and are open and obedient to God’s leading.
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Individual and spiritual maturity.
- God’s call to cross-cultural ministry overseas.
- Positive references from a pastor, professor, and friend.
- A sense of God’s leading toward ministry within the C&MA.
- Current active participation in the ministry of your local church.
- Good health as verified by a physician.
The Process
While most GV trips happen during the summer months, we can in most cases deploy people year-round. The process is simple.
