We are seeking a Children's Discipleship Director to join our staff. The Children’s Discipleship Director is the shepherd, leader, and overseer of all Children’s Ministry at First Alliance Church. Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to: 1. Participate in weekly staff meetings. 2. Attend Ministry Board meetings. 3. Conduct monthly Children’s Ministry Team Meetings. 4. Responsibility for oversight and leadership of children’s ministry areas: Sunday School, Children’s Church, Wednesday Night JAM!, Nursery, Vacation Bible School, and other events throughout the year. 5. Recruit, train, pray for, and involve new children’s ministry volunteers. 6. Provide training opportunities for all Children’s Ministry workers twice a year. 7. Run background checks for new workers according to PA Department of Human Services guidelines. 8. Research and purchase curriculum for Children’s Ministry. 9. Create and effectively manage budgets for Children’s Ministry. 10. Cast Vision & Values for Children’s Ministry with Children’s Team & congregation. 11. Support and incorporate Children’s Ministry opportunities to support adult ministries in conjunction with adult ministry leaders. 12. Submit monthly reports to Ministries Board and Elder Board. 13. Network with local Children’s Ministry leaders. Other General Expectations Include: • Should always exhibit professionalism, demonstrated by: a conscientious work ethic, be willing and able to work at a fast pace within a variety of settings and circumstances, with composure and flexibility. • Should be ever conscious of the need for confidentiality. • Should exercise discernment and wise judgment. • Should be a person who gives attention to details with an eye for excellence. • Should be a self-starter, good at multi-tasking and prioritizing projects. • Endorse and support the local church and her mission as well as the ministries of the worldwide work of the C&MA. • Maintain personal spiritual development through Bible reading, prayer, and Christian community. • Passion for lost children and their families. • Must become a member of FAC and attend Sunday morning worship. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry (or related degree). • 1-3 years experience working with children. Will consider significant experience with no completed degree. • Passionate for children to be discipled to follow Jesus. • One year minimum commitment. • Stable, maturing Christian who can be a church attendee, member, or outside hire. • Talents or abilities desired include: Able to lead a ministry and teams, Able to organize well, Able to communicate well with adults and children, Knowledge of God’s Word , Good role model, Energetic, warm and able to share the love of Jesus with families. Able to train and recruit leaders, Teachable spirit, Team player. Background clearance according to PA Dept. of Human Services.
