Muslim Outreach Director The Muslim Outreach Director (MOD) is the key leader of the South Asian Friendship Center’s (SAFC) Muslim ministry. The MOD is responsible for overseeing staff, affiliate staff, and volunteers who assist with Muslim activities/outreaches/events. Other key duties include planning Muslim outreach events, as well as fundraising for said events, staffing, and communicating such events to the team, donors, and the community. The SAFC’s MOD is responsible for overseeing the development of Muslim Background Believer (MBB) Churches in accordance with guidelines of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Please note: the MOD does not necessarily need to lead or pastor these churches. The MOD reports directly to the Executive Director. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Organizational Governance: Works with the Executive Director in order to fulfill the organization’s mission. • Responsible for leading staff in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by executive leadership; • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Executive Director and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for future activities/outreaches/events. 2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops personnel and resources sufficient to ensure the financial and viable sustainability of Muslim activities/outreaches/events. • The MOD is Responsible for the recruitment and training of volunteers and staff of the SAFC’s Muslim ministries; • Responsible for fiscal management, generally adhering to operating within the approved budget. • Ensures maximum resource utilization • Submits proposals for, and actively fundraises for proposed events. 3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with the Executive Director and other staff to ensure the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach. • Responsible for implementation of the SAFC’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission. • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that the SAFC can successfully fulfill its Mission and strive to reach its vision. • Responsible for the enhancement of the SAFC’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other churches and private organizations. 5) Staff Management: Oversees, leads, and coaches a diverse team of ministry laborers to ensure full implementation of resources in support of the day-to-day work of staff members. • Responsible for setting and communicating meeting schedules and agendas as well as following up with staff to ensure action plans from meetings are completed • Responsible over the continuing education of staff. Ensuring each team member is familiar with current trends in missions and the religious nonprofit world • Responsible over conflict resolution among staff • Responsible for leading the staff in a manner which unifies the team in maintaining the direction and course of the organization as set by the leadership and Board • Responsible for collaborating with staff. and organizing events and future events, ensuring such events are financially supported and fall within the boundary of the annual budget • Responsible over the annual reviews of staff members and any subsequent coaching from such reviews • Responsible for planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation by staff. • The MOD is responsible for maintaining a spiritually healthy Muslim outreach staff 6) Ministry Engagement: • Ability to convey a vision of SAFC’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers, and donors; • The MOD of SAFC is responsible for seeking partnerships with other laborers in the field of West Ridge and the Chicagoland area, and communicating potential partnerships to the Executive Director. REQUIREMENTS • 3-5 years (or more) working in the field with Muslims (Preferably South Asians) • Must have a specialization in Muslim ministry • Be fluent in, or have a high proficiency in Urdu (and English) • Must be able to work on a team
