The Adult Ministries Coordinator is responsible for supporting and mobilizing the Adult Ministries at Westgate Chapel (WGC) in two major ways. 1) The Adult Ministries Coordinator will provide primary oversight for the Connections ministry at Westgate Chapel—which includes: Guest Services, Assimilation, and Volunteer Coordination. 2) The Adult Ministry Coordinator will work alongside the Adult Ministries Pastor in the management and administration of Life Groups, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Classes, and Communities. In this full-time position, the Adult Ministries Coordinator will report to the Adult Ministries Pastor. SEND RESUME to firstname.lastname@example.org RESPONSIBILITIES: Connections Ministry Leader: • Guest Services - Responsible for the oversight and development of systems, lay leadership, and ministries associated with new guests. This involves providing vision (in conjunction with the Adult Ministries Pastor), training and equipping volunteers, and ensuring that Guest Services is running smoothly each Sunday. • Assimilation – Work to ensure that everyone at Westgate is supported and empowered to take steps forward towards getting plugged in to the church (both for new visitors and for regular attenders). The assimilation process includes larger connecting events, classes (Starting Point, Membership, etc.), as well as smaller one-on-one conversations. • Volunteer Coordination – Help mobilize each person at Westgate Chapel to use their gifts to serve the Lord in meaningful ways. This involves being an advocate for volunteering in larger environments, conducting volunteer consultations with individuals who are looking for direction, and networking volunteers throughout the church’s various ministries. Life Group Management: • Work alongside the Adult Ministries Pastor to oversee Westgate’s Life Groups. • Serve as the central hub for life group information and ensure that Life Group Coaches and Leaders are correctly utilizing our church group management software (Church Community Builder). • Create and manage systems/events to help people get plugged into groups. Also, provide individual assistance for people as needed. Adult Ministries Administration: • Serve as a primary point of contact for Adult Ministries via email, phone call, texting, social media, etc. • Serve as Adult Ministries’ point person in utilizing our church management software. This includes room and resource reservations, database updates, online registrations, and more. • Assist in event planning and coordination for Adult Ministries. • Purchase supplies/resources needed for Adult Ministries as needed. • Manage Adult Ministries promotion (newsletter updates, emails, signage, etc.). • Administratively assist the Care Pastor, on a need-by-need basis. Other Responsibilities: • Work with the Adult Ministries Pastor to create an annual strategic plan and ministry budget for the Connections Ministry that will be submitted for approval. • Accept financial oversight and responsibility for Connections Ministry. • Take part in all “All Hands on Deck” events throughout the year. • Attend staff meetings. • Perform other duties, as assigned.
