Eastern PA District of THE ALLIANCE Communications Specialist The Alliance is a Christ-centered global movement that is passionate about bringing the good news of Jesus to our neighborhoods and world. As a district we are looking for a partner on our team that will catalyze development, pursue generous excellence, and lead proactively. OVERVIEW: As the Communication Specialist, you’ll be the curator of the voice and events of the Eastern PA District. The Communication Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of our communications strategy including the development and creation of assets for our social media, website, district initiatives, events and other activities. You will be expected to organize and administrate the details of the events of our District Team including our annual District Conference. The Communications Specialist is expected to be a hands-on designer; taking the initiative to identify design needs across our organization as well as implementing the solutions. You are expected to be very collaborative, working with the District Team to develop an intimate understanding of the vision and messaging of our District in order to best curate the design and tone of our voice and events. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conceptualize, develop, and execute a communications strategy that effectively conveys the vision and messages of our district across various platforms (e.g. web, email, social media, video, blog) - Translate vision into strong creative elements at both the conceptual and execution level - Ability to understand ministry goals and craft that into excellent design with minimal input and/or direction - Develop and maintain a process for ensuring high quality content and consistent brand recognition within the greater Church context - Design, plan, administrate, and in some cases, serve as host for the events of our district - Serve as an administrator for the District Executive Committee - Effectively manage our pastoral placement and transition process - Assist the bookkeeper with check deposits BASIC REQUIREMENTS: - Clear articulation of personal faith in Jesus and an affinity for the philosophy of ministry of the District (i.e. Gospel development) - Bachelor’s degree in communications, design, or related field (or equivalent work experience) - Hands-on experience creating digital content across several mediums and event planning - Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - Experience with developing an organization-wide communications strategy - Impressive design portfolio (please send with application) - Highly organized, detail oriented with exceptional communication skills - Demonstrated track record of effective digital reach and high-quality events - Creativity and a willingness to try new approaches - Established skills in strategic thinking, decision-making, and relationship-building TEAM DYNAMICS: - Directly reports to Executive Director - Member of the Communications Team COMPENSATION: Full-time, salaried with benefits CONTACT: Interested persons should submit cover letter, resume and accompanying materials to David.Dixon@epdalliance.org.
