Position Purpose This role is highly pastoral, with care for the senior adults a primary responsibility. The senior adults pastor will direct and oversee the ministry, minister to senior adult members, follow up with senior adults in the congregation, and work with teams of senior adults by mobilizing them for ministry in various capacities. Main Responsibilities Provide opportunities for Senior Adults to become disciples who love Jesus, grow with others, and serve others. Develop a team to help in planning and orchestrating all meetings, events, etc. Be aware of current issues, needs, and health concerns facing today’s Senior Adult, and engage in outreach opportunities for Kingdom impact. Oversee a leadership team to help to shepherd the ministry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and host a monthly Forever Young evening meeting. Plan and host a Forever Young luncheon (minimum of monthly). Work with Congregational Care Pastor in providing pastoral care and visits to those in the hospital, assisted living, physical therapy, etc. Communicate with shut-ins via email or phone or Zoom. Plan and coordinate a few outside events. Develop and train future leaders and volunteers for the Forever Young team to replace aging leaders. Provide opportunities for seniors to serve within and outside of Grace Church. Other duties as assigned.
