The Alliance: Living the Call Together

Passport to Missions

Bridge Senegal 2009

Use Your Gifts

The C&MA's African-American Association and Short-Term Missions Office will partner with 16 Alliance missionaries and Senegalese church leaders to demonstrate the love of Jesus to the homeless, the imprisoned, and the infirm.

Are you a professional medical worker or skilled in ministry to the homeless or incarcerated? Are you involved in music ministry? God may be calling you to use your gifts and talents to bring hope to lost and hurting people of Senegal.

Build The Bridge

Through community outreaches, The Alliance is bringing the good news to Senegalese people. Be a part of the team that is building the bridge.

  • Pastoral Training Ministry (PTM): Work with the Senegalese church in pastoral ministries, youth ministries, and building Christian community.
  • Homeless and Prison Ministry Team (HPMT): The HPMT will work with the Senegalese church to minister to the homeless and prisoners.
  • Music and Education Team (MET): Partnering with an established ministry at the university, MET will focus on evangelism through music, conducting a presentation of the history of gospel music.
  • Medical Missions Team (MMT): The MMT workers will assist in existing clinics as well as teach and train Senegalese medical staff.

Visit Goree Island

For nearly 400 years, men, women, and children were gathered on Goree Island and locked up in cells before being shipped to the New World. A 20-minute boat ride from Dakar, the island is deeply rooted in the history of the slave trade. Forts and cannons attest to the island's violent past. Be a part of missions history as God uses the redeemed children of the African Diaspora to bring the gospel of Christ to West Africa.

Visit Dakar

Experience Senegal culture in the capital city of Dakar, with its beautiful coastlines and indigenous markets. From cybercafes featuring Senegalese dishes to Parisian-style terraces, Dakar's laid-back establishments paint a picture of sufficiency. Yet the majority of Senegalese have never heard the message of salvation.
