Associate Pastor Testimony
Why I love being an associate pastor…
A fundamental principle of scripture regarding the body of Christ is our absolute dependence on Him and our interdependence upon each other. God has designed His body, the church, in such a way that as we draw our strength from Him we must work together using our unique gifts and life experiences to accomplish the work of the kingdom. I love being an associate pastor in the Christian and Missionary Alliance because this position allows me to come alongside a senior pastor and a congregation. As we blend our energies, our giftedness and our individual ministry experience it is an incredible blessing to see a common vision come to fruition by God's Spirit! When these combined ministries meld together in an effective and motivated church, it stands as a powerful illustration of the dynamic God desires for His people. Having been a senior pastor, I know what it means to have someone whom God has called to come alongside assisting to do what I cannot do to multiply the ministry of the church. There is no greater joy than seeing God work through His people using the combined giftedness of the leaders and the body to spread the good news of kingdom and to equip the saints for works of service as we await His second coming. —Scott Bartholomew
