Together: 2015 Alliance Council

I didn’t really dress for the beach today, but I’m inviting you to come to Long Beach for Council 2015. It’s beautiful today; it’s going to be gorgeous in May. Would you make it a priority to join us? We have a great slate of speakers lined up that are going to build thematically throughout the week on the spiritual journey that we have prayerfully thought through, leading to a Christ-focused weekend of Christ our Savior, Healer, Sanctifier, Coming King—spiritual experience that we are trusting God for that I don’t want you to miss.

The Long Beach Convention Center will be home for us for the week of Council. You know, as spiritual leader and chief executive officer of The Alliance, I take seriously things like Council seminars selection. So, I’m so pleased that Joni Eareckson Tada, Francis Chan, Leith Anderson will not only be keynote speakers but will be seminar presenters as well, giving us a little closer opportunity to connect with them.

Take a look at the Council Web site and you will see dozens of more reasons why you will want to attend Council. Seminar themes presented are very carefully chosen, and I know that you will want to come.

Council will be a great family experience—the beauty of God’s creation here in Long Beach, the accessibility, the walkways, parks, restaurants—the Aquarium of the Pacific is just around the corner from the convention center. We will have children’s ministry for the first time in years for ages 5–10. And whether you have a family or not coming, I believe that this will be a restful, renewing kind of experience here in Long Beach.

So Alliance family, I’m eager for this week of Council 2015, believing that this will be one of those moments in Alliance history that actually shape who we become for the future—that we will look back on council 2015 Long Beach and say together, “This is where this happened; this is where we heard from the Lord on this issue. This is where my own ministry was shaped and refined. This is where God met with me. This is where God met with us.” I am living with a spirit of anticipation and expectancy that this will be one of those history-shaping kinds of weeks for us, and that will be a lot better if you are with us in that. We are better together; that includes you. Please join us.
