Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
November 3, 2009
We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support.
The House of Blessing Alliance Church will be hosting their second Marriage Encounter – ALMA weekend this year, November 6 – 8. Please do not get weary in praying for Dominican couples. God is working and using this ministry to reach many couples for Christ. Pray for God’s anointing as teams prepare, toil and get ready for an important weekend for marriages and families that need restoration, healing and Christ in their lives.
Pray for Leonard. He and his wife have been invited to attend the ALMA weekend. His wife and church have been praying for him for many years, that he would come to know the Lord and that their marriage would be strengthened. Since Marriage Encounter is evangelistic we are praying that two things would happen. One, that he would know Christ personally. Second, that their marriage would be restored and their fellowship rekindled.
We just had a great short-term mission team come down from North East, Pennsylvania. We were able to build trusses, paint them and erect them and put all of the aluminum zinc sheets up and in place, completing the goal God had for the team. Hear one testimony about how God spoke to one individual:
I wanted to take one more opportunity to tell you what a memorable time I spent in Santo Domingo. God answered all the prayers I prayed in preparation for the trip. I prayed that God would show me that there was much more of life ahead. He showed me through you that there were many more adventures ahead if I only let God lead, and if I would live outside my comfort zone. God showed me that even in the things that seem common place that He could work in great ways. I felt disappointed that the trip was a work trip and not an evangelism project – boy was I wrong! The pure presence of the building drew people in – they would now congregate together, fellowship together and hear the word of the Lord together – many people will come to know the Lord because we placed a roof on a building for shelter to meet together.
We praise the Lord for how He works in lives through the ministry of Alliance Short-Term Missions.
We have another short-term mission team coming November 7 -14th.from Lima, Ohio.
Pray for their safety and success on their project in Haitian villages [called Bateys].
They will be involved in 3 ministries. First, they will be doing construction on a Haitian Alliance Church. Second, they will be involved in a medical ministry in two separate Haitian Alliance churches. Third, they will be participating in a Breakfast for Professionals on Tuesday, November 10th, in Santo Domingo. Pray that God will touch hearts at this breakfast and change lives.

2. Shell Point Village, Ft. Meyers, FL – Nov 16 – 23

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
