Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
After seven years, I still marvel how I get to do something I love, that God has gifted me in, and that actually frees up my colleagues to do what the Lord has gifted them in. Thank you, Lord.
The majority of my day-to-day life here in Skopje is spent in the Field office and working as the bookkeeper for the Bosnia and Balkan (Kosovo/Macedoni) teams. It is has truly been a priviledge to support the team here in this way as well as in supporting them through prayer.
This past couple years I have also become really involved in the International Church which seeks to reach out to the large expat community here in Skopje. My involvement is in varying degrees and includes worship team, finances, cell groups, Christmas programs and women's Bible study. Each week it is so amazing to be a part of what God is doing in this ministry. Please pray for the many seekers who find their way to this community, that they would come to know the One Whom they seek.
As a bookkeeper for the C&MA in the Balkans, these years have also been full of transition: new culture, language, from AccPac to Quickbooks, from USD to EUR-based books, CAMA Balkans books (2 yrs), saying goodbyes to colleagues and hellos to new ones, three office moves, new Field Director, team leaders... just to name a few.
The biggest transition/change yet came this summer. Two field forums ago the Balkan Field voted to move more towards an autonomous team model. This year that move has gone even farther in that what was known as the Balkan field is now known as the Bosnia and Balkan (Kosovo/Macedonia) teams.
The bookkeeping for this was FULL of details and quite the task--yet such an adventure (yes, us bean-counters-for-Jesus can get excited about these things!). But I must confess that one of the things I've loved most about my job is that every year has had it's adventure as the field has continued to grow and flex and now become two teams. Furthermore, it's exciting to be a small part in a much grander work that God is doing here in the Balkans and to see Him work and how he uses my teammates, working through them to touch and change lives... well... no words can really describe the joy to be a part of this.
Thank you for your prayers during this transition time as well as into the future. Thank you too for your continued support through the Great Commission Fund that enables us to be here and then to do ministry among these precious people.
And that you for sending me here. Last week I celebrated 7 years on the field. Thank you for your support, prayer and encouragement through these years... from the first day until now.
For His glory,
Carolyn Gibson

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer
*****If you'd like to receive my email prayer letter, please email your request to: gibson.carolyn (at) yahoo.com.*****
RLT is meeting is coming up in the Pacific Northwest... Please pray for the team leaders, Jeff Signfiel and Mark Eikost, who will be attending. Please pray for the Lord's clear direction for the meetings and subjects covered.
Praise: for a really good home assignment, especially with regards to connecting/reconnecting with family, friends and home church. I returned to the field well rested and feeling well supported. Thank you so much!!
I'm turning 40 (!!) in October, and as is customary in Macedonia, I will be throwing myown birthday party. My intent will be to invite both my believing and non-believing friends so as to have contact in a social and non-threatening environment.
We have newbies on the field! Rob and Lisa Burns (Macedonia), Laura Eckman and Todd and Karen Dinius (Bosnia) and Connie Seale (Kosovo). Please pray for each one as they adjust to the new culture and language. Pray that we as their teammates would be good an loving supports and encouragements.
Please pray that the Lord move on peoples hearts to step up and serve in the many ministry opportunities available in the Int'l Church... greeters, set-up, worship team, children's workers, small groups, etc.
Please pray for a number of people who are now walking through the "year-ago's" of having lost a husband, father, son or other close family member or friend at this time last year. Please pray that the body of believers continue to encourage and comfort these individuals as they walk through this season of grief and for those who don't yet know Jesus in a personal and eternal way would come to know Him. For those who do, may they grow closer and deeper in relationship with Him.
Please continue to pray for *Lila as this is a very trying time for her... each month it seems some new life challenge has come her way. Pray also for me that I be a godly encouragement and friend for her.
Finally, please continue to be praying for my family members who do not know Christ... sometimes it's hard being here when they're there, yet I know that I can (and have) completely trust them to the Lord's care.
Thank you again for taking some knee-time on our behalf.
For His glory,
Carolyn
