Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
October 21, 2009
Dear Friends,
As most of you know, the Alliance continues to move boldly into the least evangelized areas of the world and these new initiatives cannot be launched without a shifting of resources. That means that the Latin American region is being downsized. Although it means we will conclude our ministry in Chile in 2011, we fully support the initiatives and await what the Lord will do.
This strategic move makes these next two years even more critical for our young church in Renaca. Forming new leaders is priority. Strengthening the church spiritually and forging a vision to grow and multiply are both urgent tasks. Giselle is coordinating the missions mobilization ministry in our local church, training a group of people who will continue to pass on the Great Commission values that brought us to Chile 16 years ago. And your prayers are the basis of seeing these things happen here.
We invite you to view a video about our church ministry at nsconnect.blogspot.com. We hope you will be encouraged by what you see.
Grace and peace,
Bob and Giselle

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer
PRAISE: As we returned from our national youth congress last week, one of our young gals came to Bob on the bus asking for tips to help her as she shared the gospel with the friend she had invited on the trip. She was putting into practice the presentation we had taught in our evangelism class, and she has developed a heart for sharing Christ with others.
PRAYER: We have church families that are in severe financial situations, having to sell homes or even facing repossession. Pray for God's provision and that they may have God's peace and be able to be an example of faith and hope in the midst of this crisis.
PRAYER: For Brent and Tim as they continue in local school, that aside from achieving well academically that they will be light.
PRAYER: The violence of extremist groups among the Mapuches, the people group with whom we worked for 13 years, has grown. One group recently renounced Chilean citizenship and declared a state of war on Chile. The majority of Mapuches don't follow the path of violence, but there are so many that lack the peace that comes from Christ in one's heart. May they find peace.
As always, pray for the Mapuche people with whom we worked for so many years...
The gospel for every person.
A church for every community.
A trained leader in every church.

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
