Noe and Keila Hernandez

Serving in Paraguay

We are Noe and Keila Hernandez and we are living and serving in Paraguay along with our children Magdalena (15), Santiago (13), and Eden (9). We love good coffee, good movies and good conversation. Our daughter Magdalena (Lena) is a budding artist and can often be found drawing in her notebooks. Santiago enjoys soccer, the Green Bay Packers, and is only sitting still when it is his turn to play on the iPad! Eden is a clever and sweet girl who desperately loves her dog.

A native of Mexico, Noe grew up in a Catholic home and as a teenager moved to the United States with his family. At the age of 17 Noe gave his life to the Lord and felt a call to full time ministry. Keila grew up on a farm in Iowa and gave her life to the Lord when she was 10 years old through the ministry of a Christian radio station.

Both attended Crown College and were married in 2003. From 2005-2013 they worked in church planting and Hispanic ministries in Ottumwa, IA. Missions has always been something close to their hearts and in October of 2012 they began to sense God's leading down to path towards international ministry. They moved to Asuncion, Paraguay in January, 2014.

How you can Pray

1. Please pray for the students and teachers of IMAP. We currently have 31 studying in the ministry training program. The first class is set to graduate in December! Praise God for the way he has provided and equipped for this institute.

2. The Alliance church in Ciudad del Este has worked for the past few years with a tribe of the Mbya (an indigenous people group) outside the city. Please pray for wisdom as both the church and the mission make decisions on healthy and sustainable ways to work with the Mbya.

3. The church in Villa del Sur has been having work done on a new parsonage. Praise the Lord the work has gone very well, and Pastor Vicente and family were able to move in mid August. Please pray that this home will be a blessing to Vicente’s family and for the church as it reopens its ministries.

4. Please continue to pray for the Liberda family (currently in Costa Rica), the Zuber family (currently in Louisiana), and the Grover family (currently in Puerto Rico). These three couples have been appointed as new missionaries to Paraguay and will be moving here as soon as the borders open. Please pray for them as they wait patiently, and please pray that the Paraguayan government will allow travel to and from the country soon.

5. Please pray for all the missionary kids (8 total) who are studying through remote learning. They are champions, some awakening at extremely early hours in order to meet in their on-line classes.
