Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings from Berlin.

Hope you’re doing well as the weather gets cooler. Since our last update, we held a baptism on Sept. 27 for 5 people.

LTL, a medical doctor, his wife and daughter and 2 other students from China were baptized. Please pray for LTL and his spiritual growth. He will remain in Berlin for another year, but his wife and daughter recently returned to Shanghai. Please pray that they can find a church home soon.

RP, a student who was also baptized on that day is a music student and was accepted to study in a university program in another city next semester. However he is applying to study in Berlin and we’re praying for him to obtain a learning position here so he doesn’t have to move away next year. Also please pray for CE, another student who attends our Friday Night Fellowship, for her studies and growth in the Lord.

On October 2, we had an outreach meeting to celebrate the Mid-autumn festival. Some sisters made moon cakes from scratch and we also celebrated with songs, games, performances by our music students, concluded with a short gospel message. Close to 50 people attended with more than half being new comers and non believers. Please pray that our new visitors will want to learn more about Christianity and continue to come to church.

We’re also getting ready to receive a short term mission team of 10 brothers and sisters from the New York Queens Herald Church for 10 days. Their ministry will focus on reaching out to new students who will soon arrive in Berlin. They plan to contact new students by visiting dorms, cafeterias and language schools. They will also conduct a big outreach event on October 23. Please pray for their team unity and an effective partnership with brothers and sisters from our church. Please also pray that the students they contact will have open hearts for the gospel.

We also visited the Dortmund Ministry and their fellowship meeting this past Sunday. About 40 adults and children attended the service and Sunday school and we’re thankful for the committed couples and students serving with Rev. and Mrs. Mark Yu. We’re also grateful for the local German church in allowing them to meet in their facility. However, with their current growth, they are in need of a larger meeting place.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

Your praise and prayers for the following are much appreciated:

- Praise God for the five people who was recently baptized. Pray that they will grow in His Word and in the Lord.

- Praise God for a good turn out for the Mid-autumn festival celebration. Pray that those new comers will continue to come and they will be touched by the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

- Pray for the Short term mission team from NYC, pray for their preparation, their trip and their ministry. Pray that they will be able to contact many new students and talk to them about Jesus.

- Praise God for the Dortmund ministry. Pray that the Lord will continue to bring people to their church and that through their church, many people will meet Jesus. Please pray for Pastor Mark Yu and his wife Li-Ping, pray that God will grant them strength to minister to the many people in the area. Also pray for the financial support that is needed for Pastor Mark and his family.

- Please continue to pray for the development of the Erlangen ministry. Pray that Pastor Lam Lee and Howard will be able to reach out to the students in the city.
