Monthly Update

Here is our March 2016 newsletter:

Spring is quickly approaching and life doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Our calendar is filling up through the end of the year and I have a hard time believing that we are almost half way through March! I have a lot to share with you since our last update so I am going to jump right in…

- Thank you for your prayers for us and our team as we continue to take on the task of learning how the Gospel best intersects with people’s lives and Mexican culture. We have had several fruitful interactions and we feel encouraged by the relationships that are growing. Even the smallest things are big victories for us in this season of ministry. We have visited people in their homes and shared meals. We have had afternoon conversations with our landlords about their lives and experiences growing up in Ensenada. I (Aleah) continue to be part of the Deaf community as I learn Mexican Sign Language. I’m growing valuable friendships at my school. I even enjoy chatting with the gas station attendant while waiting for the tank to fill up. Our team has learned so much through even the shortest of conversations about people’s view of church, government, family, and more. And this is very exciting for us!
- Our team hosted a weekend conference for the nine Alliance churches in our district and we had over 125 people attend. A good time was had by all. Sharing meals together, hearing encouraging/challenging messages about unity and love, and connecting with pastors and church members were a few of our highlights. David and I also had the opportunity to connect with the newest Alliance church in our district, Encuentro. This church is located about 7 minutes from our home and the congregation is made up of many Mexican business professionals. This past Sunday we went out to lunch with some of the leaders of Encuentro and ended up spending almost all of the afternoon with them. Please continue to pray for us as we grow relationships at Encuentro and learn more about the church’s heart for Ensenada.
- Our prayers for our two-year resident, Leah Borden, have been answered! She is fully-funded and will be moving to Ensenada on March 19th. Thank you for praying with us. Adding another member to our staff is a huge answer to prayer. We are still praying for more people to join Envision Mexico going forward. We know, and tangibly feel, that the “harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” Join with us as we pray for more workers to join in with what God is doing in Mexico!
- In February we had a mini work retreat which was fatiguing and energizing all at the same time. Our staff was able to dream about the future, cast vision for each of our roles as members of a team, and share about how our unique gifts add to our ministry. Keep us all in your prayers as we strive to align our hearts with God’s heart in ministry.
- Neighborhood Church of Redding will be bringing a group of High School students the last week of March to serve with our ministry. David and I always enjoy hosting groups, but it is extra special for us when it is a group from our home church!

Your prayers and support are a great source of encouragement to us- THANK YOU! We are blessed to have each of you walking alongside of us in this exciting season of ministry.

Blessings, Aleah and David Nishizaki

Envision Site Coordinators

In December we became the site coordinators of Envision Mexico. We are honored and excited to lead this ministry in northern Baja California, Mexico. We work with eight C&MA churches in the cities of Ensenada, Mexicali and Tijuana. Our goal is to help develop a healthy indigenous church planting movement in our district. Besides the greatest need of reaching the lost, there is a great need in our area for development of churches and training of our pastors and leaders. Join us in praying for our ministry. Specifically pray that we would be able to help equip and encourage the pastors and leaders we work alongside. Pray that we would build great relationships with people as we're still new.
