Forest and Sarah Schell
Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
Thank you for praying for us this past week, we just finished up today at noon. All of us are very tired, but content. We had 15 students from around the surrounding Alliance churches come to a 5 day lock-in, aka Operation Good News. The students got some great teaching from national pastors as well from missionaries.
For practical ministry, each day the teens would head out and do spiritual surveys in the area. We have been praying that God would lead us to people who had spiritual hunger. Below are some of the stories that they came back with. They also passed out cold water to people walking near the church. People that received the water were left dumbfounded. One man replied to me, “Free in Paraguay?!!!”
Saturday the teens preformed a puppet show and lead games in a new park, where we would like to start a new kids club. The event was well received and attended.
We followed that up with a Christmas event for the family; we invited the kids and their parents to come from our Awana (kids club). We had 40 come from the Awana neighborhood. We had a scare about 3pm when it started to downpour; this would have killed any chance of us having anyone come to the event. We prayed that God would provide good weather, and God was faithful, we had blue skies at 6pm!
Today we sent the teens home tired and ready to minister more affectively in their churches. Thanks for your prayers! Keep praying for us and the contacts that we have made.
Stories
Sylvester- Lost his wife 4 months ago, regrets living a “bad life”. We shared the gospel with him but he was not at a place to accept Him as his Savior. He dreamed the night before that God had a better life for him. He knows his sin, but could not bear giving it over to God. He also wants us (pastors) to speak to God on his behalf; this I believe is ingrained in him from his catholic roots. Also pray that God breaks the hold that alcohol has on his life.
Angel- is Catholic and I believe that she really loves God. She prayed to receive Christ, and this past Sunday came to church. I believe she could be a key contact in the new neighborhood if she gets baptized.
“Angel’s neighbors” Several from this family were saved. They were struggling with the doubt of their salvation. Pray that God would give them assurance.
Peter- This family lost their 12 year old to cancer; he is still struggling with her passing. He has a Baptist friend that is after him to go to church (but he will not go). Pray that God would soften him so that we can minister to him.
We also came across a few Christians that are without churches, these were rare gems in a sea of catholic houses. Pray for Christina, Alexandra and her family.
Thank you again for your prayer and support. This event could not have been successful without them.
We are blessed! Thank you!

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
