Forest and Sarah Schell
Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
This past Día del Niño, Children’s day, we at Mi Esperanza had a chance to work alongside two communities to bless the children. The children had a great time, as well, the parents and adults were able to see that we really do care about the children in our community. Over 200 children came out to enjoy a “bounce house”, clowns, food and gift bags that had been prepared for them.
We would like to thank the churches of; Journey Church in Richmond, KY, Largo Alliance, FL, and Washington Alliance, NJ. These churches prepared gift bags for each of these children as part of this special day. Also, the Southside Church of God of Alliance, OH provided the bounce houses for the events. At the end of the day, many kids and their families were blessed, our church had a great opportunity to bless the community in a practical way, and we as leaders were able to make some great new contacts.
The price of freedom is often costly. Nations often call upon its young men to fight for their homeland. As the bloodiest war in Latin American history prolonged, Paraguay found itself against the wall. In a last ditch attempt, Paraguay called upon its children to fight. They were dressed in beards made from horse hair to disguise their true age. In less than eight hours the children and what was left of the Paraguayan army was defeated. It is said that some 3,000 children, aged 6-15, died in the battle of Acosta Ñu. Each year Paraguay celebrates the valor that those children showed for their country.
We cannot say it enough…thank you, thank you, and thank you!! Thank you for giving to the Great Commission. We are able to live and minister here in Paraguay because of YOUR gifts. Thank you for being a part of the Lord’s work here in Paraguay.

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—in our denomination, in our churches, and in our individual lives.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This central funding vehicle allows our international workers to focus on ministry rather than raising financial support.
Serve.
