Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
Dear Friends and Family,
May you experience the presence of Jesus this Christmas! This time of the year invokes various feelings and emotions for different people. There is the anticipation of giving and receiving of gifts. There is the joy of reunions, families spread throughout the country come together for family feasts and gift exchanges. And there is the sorrow over those family members who are no longer with us. Any one of these feelings can overshadow the reality of the presence of Jesus. We have been living in the “valley of the shadow of death” for some time now. Viviane’s husband died over 8 years ago and my wife died 7 years ago this Christmas Eve. For the last 7-8 years, Christmas has been a bittersweet time. All the above mentioned emotions have been rolled together! There is, however, the hope of Christmas: Immanuel, the God with us, the baby who will save people from their sins, the joy of knowing the Good News and the promise of eternal life.
We want you to know how much we appreciate your prayers and your financial support. You have lifted us up before the throne of God and He has comforted us (2 Cor. 1:3-4, 10-11). Your gifts have made it possible for us to minister in Bosnia Herzegovina the past 4 years. Because of the loss we have experienced and the comfort God has provided, we have been able to extend that comfort to others. We have been able to demonstrate that God is with us in the valleys of life. Our loss is a gift and an opportunity to point others to the Jesus “who will never leave us or forsake us” regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in. Something Libby stated 7 years ago as she was dying is still true, “Jesus is here, you can’t ask for anything better than that!” May God gift you with the knowledge of the presence of Jesus this Christmas!
We have been living in Toccoa, GA for the past 6 months. All of our children have been living with us. Mel, Maria, and Naomi have been attending Toccoa Falls College. Esther and Max are enrolled in the local public high school. Melanie and her fiance, Jeremy Bill, graduated from Toccoa Falls this December and are getting married next month. Viviane has been sewing all the dresses in addition to running a full house (we live on campus and find ourselves feeding friends of our college students)! I toured in Upstate NY for 2 months. Viviane accompanied me for a couple churches there and a church in Mequon, Wisconson. In addition, she has been speaking in different Alliance Women’s meetings and rallies. We are looking forward to our return to Bosnia in July for the continuation of our ministry there. In the near future, we are preparing for a wedding on January 9 and a tour in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas from January 22-March 28.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer
As you remember us in prayer, please be lifting up our coworkers in Bosnia. Be praying for Kathy Eikost and Karmelo Kresonja. Both have been hospitalized recently and are in need of Jesus’ touch. Please be praying for the successful start of the Community Center in the city of Sarajevo. Also be in prayer for the believers in Bosnia as they celebrate the presence of Jesus. Thanks again for your support for us through your gifts to the Great Commission Fund.

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
