Kelvin Walker

I believe we are in a Kairotic moment. There are opportunities, decisions, and calls that God has laid before us, asking, ‘What will you choose?’ Part of that choosing, I believe, is His call to us to reach back and bring into wherever He’s leading us the DNA upon which we were founded.

Kelvin was born and raised in Oyster Bay, Long Island. He has been a licensed official worker with the C&MA since 1988, having been ordained in 1990, and served on staff at churches in Pennsylvania and Virginia and as the campus pastor at Nyack (New York) College’s Rockland campus.

Currently, Kelvin is superintendent of the C&MA’s Metropolitan District, which encompasses New Jersey and the portion of New York that includes New York City, Long Island, and the counties of Rockland, Orange, Putnam, and Westchester.

At Alliance Council 2019 in Tampa, Florida, Kelvin was elected Corporate Vice President of the U.S. Alliance—the first African-American to serve as a C&MA corporate officer. Because no other nominations were forwarded from the Council floor, balloting was waived, and Kelvin was elected by acclamation—a strong affirmation of the Alliance family’s confidence in his leadership.

Kelvin holds a bachelor’s degree in sacred music and a master’s degree in professional studies in church development; he is currently working on a doctor of ministry at Alliance Theological Seminary.

Kelvin and his wife, Doni, have six adult children.
